Rather than attending the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, an event with a rich and storied history, the president has decided to hold a campaign-stye rally in Harrisburg, PA.

What kind of president continues to campaign after he has been elected?

The answer is obvious: The kind of president who is more comfortable when selling empty promises and platitudes on the campaign trail than when doing the heavy lifting that governing requires.

It’s also telling that our thin-skinned president is choosing to skip an event where people—including presidents themselves—tend to poke fun at the man (and, one day, woman) who holds the office.  Our president’s ego is so fragile, the mere thought of an event like this must send chills down whatever passes for his spine.

This level of cowardice on the part of a president is not normal. And the world is watching.

It’s Wednesday, the 26th of April, 2017.
