Kenneth Frazier, the chief executive of Merck, resigned from Donald Trump’s American Manufacturing Council on Monday.

In a statement posted to Twitter, Frazier said, “America’s leaders must honor our fundamental values by clearly rejecting expressions of hatred, bigotry and group supremacy, which run counter to the American ideal that all people are created equal. As C.E.O. of Merck and as a matter of personal conscience, I feel a responsibility to take a stand against extremism.”

This was Trump’s response to Frazier’s resignation:

There are two things about Trump’s tweet that warrant attention.

This first is, Donald Trump is an idiot. I’ve tried, in the past, to temper my criticism of Trump in this blog out of respect for the millions of Americans that voted for him. But no more. Donald Trump, America’s version of Dear Leader, is a sorry excuse for a human being; he is a true buffoon, an idiot, in every sense.

The second is, Kenneth Frazier was appointed to the American Manufacturing Council by Trump himself. So, if Trump believed then that Merck was gouging American consumers, why would he appoint Frazier to one of his leading advisory boards in the first place? Indeed, Trump’s tweet about Frazier only reinforces how truly idiotic he is.

It’s Tuesday, the 15th of August, 2017.  It’s an abnormal Tuesday.

Go ahead: Disagree with me on Twitter. I dare you.
