I still remember very vividly the devastation, frustration, and uncertainty during the severe flooding, which took place across southern Alberta, in 2013.
We were out of our home for nearly a month, and it took another 18 months for life to return to a new “normal” in my neighborhood (shown in the photo below; my home is surrounded by floodwater).
With this as backdrop—and for what little words are worth at a time like this—I’m extending my best wishes for safety and security today, and a speedy recovery tomorrow, to my friends and colleagues in Texas in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.
It’s Monday, the 28th of August, 2017. It’s not a normal day in Texas.
