Hillary Clinton is out in force promoting her latest book, entitled What Happened.

I’ll make no secret of the fact that I supported Mrs. Clinton during the campaign of 2016. But, according to many, what happened is she—and her team—ran a poorly organized campaign.

The Clinton campaign failed to find the middle, and failed to generate excitement in states that they thought were a lock (like Michigan).

In the end, what happened is, Mrs. Clinton lost.

It was a case of the proverbial tortoise and hare, though let’s face it, the tortoise in this case was a dishonest and fake populist, who preyed upon people’s fears, predisposition toward xenophobia and bigotry, and anxiety.

(And never mind that the tortoise in this scenario may have received critical assistance from a foreign power…).

Nevertheless, the election is over.

It’s time for everybody to regroup.

It’s time to hold government accountable.

And, it’s time to think ahead to 2018 and 2020.

Today is the 14th of September, in the year 2017.  It’s not a normal Thursday.
