In a few days, I’ll be vacating my seat as a member of the EPA’s chartered Science Advisory Board; in my time working with the EPA, I’ve had the pleasure of working with Administrators appointed by Republican and Democratic presidents.

A news slate of nominees for service on the board has recently been put forward. Among them are several individuals who have rejected mainstream climate science.

According to E&E News, one nominee has publicly stated that the world must “abandon this suicidal Global Warming crusade.” Another nominee compared individuals who are concerned about climate change to “Aztecs who believed they could make rain by cutting out beating hearts.”

Click here for a more thorough list of the dangerous and unqualified nominees for service on the EPA’s Science Advisory Board.

This is not normal.

It’s disgusting, not to mention scary and disheartening, to learn that my seat on the EPA’s Science Advisory Board could be taken by an unqualified and biased junk scientist who was nominated by the Heartland Institute.

If you’re as concerned as I am, you can let your voice be heard.  The agency has invited the public to comment on the nominees currently under consideration for appointment to the SAB. Comments should be submitted by email to Thomas Carpenter, the Designated Federal Officer for the EPA’s chartered Science Advisory Board, by September 28, 2017.

Welcome to a new abnormal week. Today is Monday, September 18, 2017.
