After repeated taunts of “dotard” and “little rocket man“, and weeks of threats of attack and annihilation, it appears as though the United States is on the brink of war with North Korea.

North Korea’s foreign minister said yesterday that Donald Trump’s comments at the United Nations were tantamount to a declaration of war.

“Since the United States declared war on our country, we will have every right to make countermeasures, including the right to shoot down United States strategic bombers even when they are not inside the airspace border of our country,” he said.

Let’s be clear: We’re not in the position because of a legitimate geopolitical dispute. We’re in this position because detente and diplomacy have been thrown out the window by two—Kim and Trump—man-children who are more interested in saber rattling and “power” than they are in staving off the threat of a nuclear holocaust.

This is not normal.

It’s a frightening final Tuesday of September, 2017.
